Basilica

In San Jose, we have a beautiful basilica that is simply glorious to be in. The large spaces, as well as the small, invite one to meditate on the more important things in life.

This is the perfect subject for HDR photography because of the extreme differences between light and dark in most of the images. Of course I had to use a tripod for these because even though they appear bright, the church was actually quite dark that day, with only small indirect interior lights turned on. But, again, the HDR technique allows one to "tease out" the pixels of light.
